The division boasts a team of nearly 650 highly skilled engineers. Rigorously selected from top universities, these professionals possess deep expertise in product R&D and quality management. To drive the company's transition towards smart production, the division fosters a culture of creativity and continuous improvement. This empowers engineers to actively research new technologies and innovate processes to optimize labor efficiency.

The Board of Directors actively encourages employees to think critically, conduct research, and propose creative solutions. Additionally, they champion initiatives and celebrate improvements, fostering an environment of knowledge sharing and recognition. This empowers employees to contribute their ideas and expertise.

Since 2018, the division has implemented nearly 4,000 successful process improvement projects, with 1,500 projects completed in 2023 alone. These initiatives have generated significant cost savings exceeding VND60 billion for the company. In May 2024, over 300 improvement ideas were submitted for the Kaizen contest, with 11 outstanding initiatives recognized. These ongoing efforts consistently elevate technological integration, enhance production efficiency, and deliver cost savings across the organization.

A shining example is Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hung, a Production Engineering Deputy Manager at the THACO Mazda Plant. In 2023, he achieved remarkable results by submitting 15 improvement topics that generated cost savings exceeding VND3.7 billion. One of these initiatives, titled "Controlling and standardizing glass glue lines according to Japanese Mazda standards," truly stood out.  This award-winning project, which won the Excellence Award in the Innovation and Improvement Contest in Q1 of 2024, utilized automatic robots to optimize glue discharge and line cross-section, resulting in cost savings of over VND600 million.

Mr. Hung said: “My experience at the factory revealed numerous opportunities to streamline processes and optimize efficiency. By leveraging the knowledge and experience I've accumulated over the years, I've actively pursued technical improvements. Each successful project is a source of immense pride which fuels my motivation to continuously strive for better solutions."

A 2018 graduate in Electrical Engineering from Da Nang University of Technology, Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Huy joined THACO Bus as an Equipment Management Specialist. Driven by a passion for improvement and a strong sense of responsibility, he has consistently sought out ways to optimize processes. His dedication has yielded impressive results – in 2023 alone, he successfully implemented 9 projects that accelerated production and delivered nearly VND 500 million in cost savings for the Group.

Mr. Huy shared: “I operate with the belief that there's always room for improvement. This drives me to constantly seek solutions that address inefficiencies and boost production output. This problem-solving approach not only enhances my creative thinking but also fosters perseverance and a meticulous approach to my work."

Collectivism is the key to success

The collective passion and dedication of the engineers is a driving force for innovation. This spirit of collaboration fosters a dynamic environment where ideas can flourish, the team maximizes their potential to find optimal solutions, improve work efficiency, and ultimately create significant value.

The Technical Department at THACO Mazda Plant boasts a team of engineers who consistently deliver remarkable results. In 2023 alone, the team yielded nearly 30 successful projects, generating a cost saving of VND7 billion for the Group. A standout example is the initiative titled "Integrating the common PCM (Powertrain Control Module) software for Mazda 3 and Mazda CX-5" which streamlined inventory management, significantly reducing rarely used PCM stock, resulting in cost savings exceeding VND2.3 billion on PCM orders from Mazda.

Last year, the department's contributions were acknowledged through their selection as an excellence team in the 'Good Labor - Creative Labor' initiative. Mr. Tran Van Lai, the department manager said: "Witnessing the successful implementation of our team's ideas brings immense pride and satisfaction. By harnessing the collective knowledge and creativity, we generate a multitude of innovative solutions which translate into tangible benefits for the Group, optimizing production processes, boosting productivity, and ultimately enhancing overall business efficiency."

The success of the THACO Mazda Plant's Technical Department is just one example of the outstanding innovation taking place across THACO AUTO Production Division. Numerous other departments have achieved remarkable results, including the Engineering and Technology Department at THACO Truck, the Design Department at THACO AUTO R&D Center, and the Engineering Departments at THACO Bus and THACO KIA.
